Accessibility

At the Shirley-Eustis House, Carriage House, and Grounds we try to be as accommodating as possible. If you need assistance or have any questions, please contact us prior to your visit.

We welcome service animals!

Mansion access through virtual tours:

The mansion is not wheelchair accessible, but we are happy to provide in person one-on-one virtual tours of the mansion via Zoom or Google Meet. Our ADA acccessible slide tour covers all of the same information that in-person visitors receive, and even includes portions of the house that in-person visitors don’t get to see. Our in person tour provides the opportunity to ask questions and discuss points of interest with your tour guide. Please call 617-442-2275 or email programs@shirleyeustishouse.org to schedule your tour. Accessible tours are free for EBT card holders as well as Roxbury and Dorchester residents; a $10 donation is suggested for all others.

Carriage House access:

In person lectures and programs in the spring-summer-fall seasons are hosted in our Carriage House is which is wheelchair accessible and has a wheelchair-compatible bathroom. Should you require accessible parking for an event at the Carriage House, you are welcome to park in front of the building off of Rockford Street. There is no designated handicapped parking spot in front of the building, however, so please call in advance so we can ensure that an adjacent spot is reserved for your vehicle.

Virtual programs:

Many of our lectures take place on Zoom and are recorded for our youtube site. Visit https://www.youtube.com/@TheShirley-EustisHouse-1747 to view some of our past programs.
