Will I be charged for the time I use to set up and break down from my event?

Yes. Our rates run hourly from the time you arrive on site to begin setup to the time you make your final exit after cleaning up. At this time, we do not offer in-house setup or clean up options for rentals - both of these are the responsibility of the renter or their decorator.

Is insurance required for all private events at the Shirley-Eustis House?

Yes. We require a one-day liability policy for all events held at our site. This policy must list “The Shirley-Eustis House Association” as a covered party, and we must have proof of the policy in hand before your event begins. We usually recommend coverage through The Event Helper, and you can get a special discount using our referral link. Or you are also welcome to find your own coverage through another insurer.

Can I bring my dog to a private event at your site?

We allow leashed dogs at private events held on our Grounds or in the Carriage House. No animals are permitted in the Mansion. Please check with the organizer of the event you’re attending for guidelines on whether animals are allowed during their event.

If I book an event on the lawn, what happens if it rains?

In the event of rain during an event scheduled outdoors, we will work with you to find a backup space for your event. If capacity permits, we will move your event to one of our indoor buildings.

Is there any A/V equipment available to rent through the Shirley-Eustis House?

No, we do not have A/V equipment for rent through our venue at this time. But we are happy to provide recommendations for local businesses where you can rent self-service or staffed A/V equipment.
