The Bedroom

This bedroom was used by Governor and Mrs. Eustis. Madam Eustis, as she preferred to be called, was intensely interested in decorating and ordered stylish French furniture for the more formal rooms on the first floor. The furnishings in the bedrooms were simple compared to those other rooms. Today the room is furnished with 19th c. colonial revival furniture, although it includes a recently acquired Chippendale mahogany chest of drawers with Shirley family provenance.
