EVENT POSTPONED UNTIL SEPTEMBER (date TBD): Book Launch for William Shirley

A special celebration in honor of SEHA’s first major publication! Date to bminent historian John A. Schutz’s 1961 landmark  biography William Shirley, King’s Governor of Massachusetts has been reissued in expanded format. The beautiful 420 page softcover edition includes a Foreword by Robert J. Allison and Essays by the late author as well as William Pencak and Michael H. Gorn. Funding for the project was made possible by  Ralph J. Crandall and Judith Avery. John Di Salvo generously assigned original copyright to SEHA in 2014.

The reception at the Mansion at 33 Shirley Street will feature heavy hors d’oeuvres, petit desserts and festive drinks. Professor Robert J. Allison of Suffolk University will speak briefly about the significance of the work to the study of 18th century colonial American and British Empire history.
